Amanda Forsythe

Amanda Forsythe is the founder and Managing Director of Mobiguide (Pty) LTD. She is an experienced, professional interpreter and translator with a passion for travel, history, culture, languages and of course, South Africa. With degrees in French and Philosophy, Amanda has completed her interpreter training at the E.S.I.T. in Paris, France.

Amanda was brought up in the tourism industry and foray into the e-tourism sector began when she partnered with mobile phone network, Vodacom, as well as South African WASP, Glocell to deliver her guides via mobile phones and other media players.

A first for the African continent, Mobiguide offers museums and tourist attractions the possibility of saving on heavy infrastructure costs and multilingual staff by creating and delivering multilingual guided tours of their establishment. The product is currently being extended to the corporate sector and international expansion is on the cards for 2011.

Amanda has consulted to Mobiguide partners on e-marketing strategies, the importance of rich media content in the virtual market space and how to access more customers through mobile technology. She has also been a judge for the 2009 e-Marketing awards and presented at the Pan-African E-tourism Summit last year. This year will see Amanda travelling to East Africa, the Middle East and Scandinavia to share her experience in e-tourism with countries from those regions.
